
Application Manager - (F/M)
Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) services, among which, the main one is, the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).

We are looking for an Application Manager who will be in charge of the life-cycle management of ESSP applications and tools under his/her responsibility. He/She will ensure that the business applications are consistent with the guidelines, operating methods and processes defined by the business teams.
He/She will contribute to IS upgrades by ensuring that the applications for which he/she is responsible are properly implemented, function properly and can be operated. He/She will aim at improving their performance by ensuring that the rules and procedures laid down are properly applied, particularly in the context of ISO27001 and ISO9001 certification.
For these activities, we are looking for someone with at least 3 years’ experience in the IT sector with a first successful experience in a similar position, an experience in projects in an international context (European) and with a very good level of English (minimum B2).
Your main responsibilities/activities will be:
- Managing the portfolio of applications within his/her scope and their lifecycle;
- Managing the Application TPM (Thir Party Maintenance) contracts;
- Coordinating the network of players involved in running the applications (business teams, IT teams, suppliers) ;
- Be the business interface to guarantee the suitability of solutions to operational needs;
- Maintaining the overall operational quality and performance of the applications within his/her scope;
- Monitoring bugs and changes to the applications within its scope;
- Participating in the drafting of functional specifications to formalise requirements and detail the desired functionalities for the applications, taking into account technical, financial, quality and regulatory obligations;
- Managing the application projects he/she is entrusted to (scheduling, follow up stages of implementation, integration, acceptance, reporting, etc.);
- Managing the reference documentation for the applications under his/her responsibility;
- Supporting functional managers in using the application and identifying malfunctions;
- Ensuring the continuous improvement of internal practices;
- Defining and ensuring the compliance of data governance rules within its applications scope;
- Guarantying the quality, integrity and data consistency;

- Knowledge of data exchange interfaces and standards (xml, json, soap, rest, etc.), as well as common data formats
- Knowledge on databases (SQL, NoSQL)
- Knowledge of programming languages and development frameworks (ex SQL, Python, JS, etc.)
- Knowledge on versioning best practices (ex Git, Gitlab)
- Knowledge of ticketing tools (ex JIRA, etc.)
- Good knowledge of project management methodologies
- Understanding of data governance, quality and security issues (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.)
- Concepts and awareness on cybersecurity issues
- Usage of BI tools (ex PowerBI, etc.)
- Ability to maintain a data catalog
- Knowledge of IS management best practice (ITIL)
Job Specifications:
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Available for punctual travels mainly in Europe
