
Ground Station Site Engineer - (F/M)
Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan-European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) services, among which the main one is the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Union Agency for the Space Programme).

We are looking for a Ground Station Site Engineer who will be in charge of the monitoring of hosting, maintenance, and operations services of the EGNOS remote sites. This position includes the monitoring of Service Contracts, the management of technical documentation, oversight of site visits, and the management of site creation and modification projects. For these activities, we are looking for someone with at least 3 years’ experience in space or aeronautical domains, with a very good level of English (minimum B2).
Your main responsibilities/activities will be:
Monitoring the EGNOS operational sites' services:
- Gathering monthly the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) values defined in the Service Level Agreement;
- KPIs values consolidation and correlation with the operational concerned site performance as observed through ESSP tools (TOM, Serenad, etc.);
- Calculation of potential penalty coming from the monthly KPI’s values determined;
- Preparing and performing monthly reviews of the Service Level Agreement execution;
- Delivering a monthly report to the Site Manager summarizing the performance of the Service Level Agreement of the EGNOS sites;
- Gathering and analysing environmental data (Local Environment Report) coming from the different sites, as well as production and analysis of the consolidated LER report quarterly;
- Gathering and analysing security data coming from the different entities.
Leading contracts supervision:
- Supervising the services commitments of the entities performing the hosting, maintenance, and operations;
- Regular meeting with the hosting entities to do a lesson learnt of the past period, doing a actions status, and reviewing the applicable documentation;
- Performing some regular site visits defined by the Site Manager; the purpose of the visits is to check that the Service Level Agreement is correctly executed, and particularly the local security and maintenance procedures used for the EGNOS systems.
Monitoring evolutions linked to EGNOS sites:
- Managing or contributing to the treatment of the Site Management team’s actions;
- Managing or contributing to specific projects, defined by the Site Team Manager, related to the creation of new sites and existing site modifications;
- Keeping updated the Hosting Entity's applicable documentation (administrative and technical dossiers).
- Maintaining and improving software tools used by the Site Management team (based mainly on Excel);
Contributing to the development of ESSP activities:
- Contributing to projects and ESSP activities development (linked to, or outside EGNOS operations, for example, SBAS export projects); direct involvement or support to the Site Manager on topics necessitating a site expertise may be asked.
- In the frame of some projects, a direct relationship with the Customer is necessary. This implies some additional activities such as: negotiations with the Customer, creation/delivery of documentation, organisation/attendance to contractual milestones, and progress meetings.

- Basic knowledge of programming in Excel would be appreciated
- Training on internal auditor methodology would be a plus
- Knowledge of space (SBAS if possible) or aeronautical systems’ operations would be a plus
- Experience in project management would be a plus
- Experience in international context projects (European) would be a plus
Job Specifications:
- Experience of at least 3 years in space or aeronautical domains
- Engineering degree, or Master's degree, or equivalent
- Available for regular travels mainly in Europe (a maximum of 1 on-site mission per month).
