EFLA aerodrome published the first-ever LPV to a Non-Instrument Runway End (NIRE) in Class G airspace
October 06, 2023In January 2023, the Lahti-Vesivehmaa Aerodrome (ICAO code: EFLA), located in southern Finland, two hours to the north of Helsinki, published the first LPV procedure to a Non-Instrument Runway End (NIRE) in Class G (uncontrolled) airspace in Europe; thus, becoming pioneers on the matter and paving the way for many other procedures to come.

The EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), former GSA, as the company designated to manage the three systems that make up the European Space Program; EGNOS, Galileo and Copernicus presented their essential role in the development of the drone sector in Europe and the Urban Air Mobility of the future.

First EGNOS LPV-200 Approach Implemented at Charles de Gaulle Airport
May 04, 2016The European Satellite Services Provider (ESSP) announces that on 3rd May, the first LPV-200 approaches were implemented at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (LFPG) – the first such approaches to be implemented in Europe. This announcement follows the publication of the EGNOS-based procedures on 28th April.

New EGNOS Approach Procedures in the Czech Republic, Austria and Finland
January 07, 2014The implementation of these new LPV approaches has been enabled by the EU-funded project ACCEPTA : Accelerating EGNOS Adoption in Aviation. ACCEPTA aims to procure a wide-scale, real-life adoption of EGNOS-enabled LPV approaches across Europe in areas where the EGNOS signal is available and certified.
