
Monitoring and Control Facility Engineer - (F/M)
Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) services, among which, the main one is, the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).

We are looking for a Monitoring and Control Facility engineer who will be in charge of the supervision of the technical activities related to real-time monitoring and control of the EGNOS V2 system, more specifically the CCF subsystem, and on EGNOS V3 of the EGNOS Common Server (ECS) platform and of its archive device and associated software.
For these activities, we are looking for someone with at least 3 years on supervision of real time systems, with a very good level of English (minimum B2).
Your main responsibilities/activities will be:
The EGNOS Monitoring and Control Facility Engineer is responsible for the contribution to the following activities affecting the platforms and the software in his/her perimeter:
- These platforms and software are primarily for EGNOS V2, the CCF, and EGNOS V3:
- The EGNOS Common Server (ECS) platform and the associated archive system,
- The software enabling:
- EGNOS maintenance and configuration support (MSF: Maintenance Support Facility),
- Management of events affecting EGNOS components (SIEM) and EGNOS certificates (RCA),
- Authentication and authorization of operators or systems (Security Authentication Server).
- Corrective maintenance daily, namely the detection and analysis of any failure and/or abnormal event and its return to nominal operations,
- The submission and analysis of anomalies detected and the tracking of their correction and qualification, in compliance with the anomalies management process,
- Sum-up of the events for monthly client reports,
- Providing internal support to teams ‘System and Operations’ and external support to MCC (Mission Control Centre), for operations and configuration management,
- The specification of technical evolutions needs (closely with the Maintenance & Evolution team), and the monitoring of developments answering the needs expressed by the EGNOS Program,
- The review of industry documentation when a new version of EGNOS (V2 and V3) is under development process,
- The technical maintenance of operational and maintenance procedures and of training materials (updates needs analysis, writing and validation of updates),
- The development and maintenance of software tools needed for maintenance and monitoring of EGNOS system and subsystems (SYSMON, RTM, …), as well as the development and maintenance of the EGNOS training simulators (ASCET, LTT, …).
Profile:
- Team player
- Able to assume responsibility
- Strong analysis, synthesis and writing abilities
- Good knowledge of Microsoft functions (Office, Project etc)
- Good level in English (B2-C1) – CEFR
- Good knowledge of:
- Satellite ground segment system engineering and operation
- Secure systems supervision (space or aeronautical systems in general)
- Programming languages C/C++, JavaScript, Python, TCL
- Linux command and scripts development (Bash, Awk, Unix commands...)
- Linux computers and network administration, VM Hypervisors, TCP/IP network protocols
- SSL, TLS, SFTP security protocols
- Knowledge of software development standards and life cycles
- Knowledge of EGNOS would be an asset
Job Specifications:
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Experience in projects in an international context (European)
- Available for regular travels mainly in Europe
- Subject to constraints of minimum presence during normal vacation periods (July/August, Christmas, February, Easter).
- Subject to on call duties during weekends and bank holidays (nights not concerned).
