Logistics Engineer – F/M
Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance(CNS) services, among which, the main one is, the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).

We are looking for a Logistics Engineer who will be in charge of monitoring all the logistics services needed to maintain the EGNOS system in operational conditions.
These services include the management, the storage and the transport within optimized deadline of EGNOS system assets. For these activities, we are looking for someone with 3 years’ experience in logistics or transport, with a very good level of English (minimum B2).
Main responsibilities/activities:
Monitoring of logistics services needed to maintain EGNOS system operational :
- Logistics services are outsourced to a subcontractor (the “Logistics supplier”). These services include: the management of EGNOS assets (in operation and spares), storage in a central warehouse, shipment preparation and transport, management of export control licenses and disposal. Some pieces of equipment are also stored in ESSP local warehouse,
- Monitoring of contract execution as per contract terms,
- Performance Monitoring (monthly review of various metrics),
- Contribution to KPI (Key Performance Indicators) review with the client EUSPA (European Union Agency for Space Program);
- Provision of necessary inputs to the logistics supplier,
- Contribution to logistics supplier and EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) audits,
- Coordination with the EGNOS sites management team (in particular regarding equipment customs clearance for the sites out of the EU),
- Coordination with the operations coordination team and with the engineering team for shipments needs,
- Coordination with maintenance team,
- Management of ESSP local warehouse,
- Management of 2 persons from the logistics supplier:
o The main point of contract (“Asset Manager”),
o The Logistics support in charge of the local ESSP warehouse and of the required handling for receipt and shipment at/from the ESSP.
- Monitoring of the application of security policies and activities required for logistics,
- Contribution to equipment management tool evolution (also used for operations management).
Contribution to the development of ESSP activities:
- Contribution to projects and development of ESSP activities (in the frame of EGNOS Operations or not, for example : SBAS export projects) on topics requiring a logistics expertise.
Profile:
- Good knowledge of logistics for complex systems
- Knowledge of international transport/logisitcs (Incoterms)
- Knowledge of Service Level Agreement Contracts
- High level of English (B2-C1) – CEFR
- Very good communication skills in multicultural environment
- Good level of English (B2) – CEFR
- Ability to assume responsibilities
- Synthesis and initiative spirit
- Strong autonomy
- Team work
- Good knowledge of Microsoft suit (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MSProject, etc.)
- Knowledge of Space system operations would be a plus
- An experience of project in an international context (European) would be a plus
Job requirements:
Engineering degree or equivalent
Available for occasional travel in Europe
