Procedures and Training Engineer – F/M


Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) services, among which, the main one is, the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).

We are looking for a Procedures and Training Engineer who will manage operational and maintenance procedures of the EGNOS System as well as the operational training for operators and maintainers of the system.

For these activities, we are looking for someone with 5 years’ experience in Space or aeronautics domain in Project Management, with a very good level of English (minimum B2).

You will be responsible for:

Operations and maintenance procedures management, project management for operational procedures creation/updates activities:

Application of the documentation management process for EGNOS operations:

- Global coordination of operational procedures creation/updates projects,
- Involvement in industrial documentation reviews of the various EGNOS versions,
- Implementation of all modifications required for the entry into service of the new EGNOS version,
- Coordination of all phases of the overall process: production, review, validation,
- Request of EASA authorization, as regulation authority, for the entry into service,
- Configuration management of the operational documentation, and delivery of the relevant procedures to the operators and maintainers,
- Follow-up the « Observation Reports » raised by operators and maintainers, that could lead to corrections,
- Writing of the « Temporary Operational Instruction » as workarounds of some system malfunctions.
- Validation of operations and maintenance procedures to ensure their operability.

Operational Training:

- Management of EGNOS training for system operators and maintainers, and ESSP personnel;
- Management of the supplier in charge of:

o The production of training modules;
o Supply and maintenance of the training tool

- Organization / Supervision of the execution of training: initial, refresh and specific,
- Production of training material;
- Follow-up of the development and maintenance in operational condition of the training simulator,
- Follow-up of the ATSEP (Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel) certification of operators and maintainers:

o Specific follow-up of English language proficiency (English being working language between ESSP, control centers, and all sites hosting EGNOS equipment and maintainers.

Team support:

As a member of the operations coordination team, he/she is expected to participate in a more or less significant way, and/or to ensure the back-up of certain operational tasks for which his/her colleagues are responsible for:

- The management of projects for the deployment of new versions of the EGNOS system,
- Participation in the activity of operational qualification of the control centres.

Contribution to projects and developments:

- Answers to calls for tenders and Projects execution: participation or support to the Operations Coordinator on topics requiring expertise on operational procedures or training activities;
- Participation in the implementation of procedures or training processes for future systems, or production of training for other ESSP projects;
- Preparation of procedures and training for the major evolution of the EGNOS system towards V3;
- In the medium term, the production of all the training materials required for this major evolution of the EGNOS system towards V3, for operators, system maintainers, and ESSP staff if necessary;

Profile:

- Knowledge of SBAS systems, and EGNOS operations in particular, would be appreciated
- Past experience in operational context would be appreciated, in particular involving operational procedures production.
- Past experience with a LMS (Learning Management System) would be appreciated, or generally speaking any past experience in the field of training.
- Skills in operating Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
- Project management and coordination skills
- Communication skills, pedagogy, ease of speaking in public
- Ability to work in a team
- Shows autonomy and initiative
- Ability to synthetize, global vision of a system and its constraints

Job requirements:

Engineering degree or equivalent
Available for occasional travel in Europe
