System Coordination Engineer - F/M


Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) services, among which, the main one is, the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).

We are looking for a System Coordination Engineer who will manage transversal engineering activities, following-up the resolution of anomalies and observations impacting the EGNOS system, checking the completeness of operations and maintenance processes and procedures, and reviewing system-level industrial documentation associated with new EGNOS versions. For these activities, we are looking for an engineer with at least 3 years’ experience in space or aeronautical domain, with a very good level of English (minimum B2).

Your main responsibilities/activities will be:

Management of anomalies and observations:

- Represent the department at weekly Observation Review Board (ORB) meetings organized by ESSP,
- Monitor the progress of Observation Report (OR) processing for which the department is responsible for,
- Coordination of activities associated with interdependent ORs that may involve several subsystems and the System,
- Participate to Non-Conformance Board (NCB) meetings organized by the Manufacturer,
- Participate to the definition of “Operational Workarounds” (OWAs) that can be implemented to reduce the impact of a System event or restore nominal operation of a subsystem,
- Manage the OWA database,
- Participate to the detection, analysis and follow-up of problems and anomalies affecting the System, with the support of subsystem experts and EGNOS signal performance experts.

Monitoring of new EGNOS versions under development:

- Review System-level Industry documentation (migration plan, maintenance plan, operational instructions, technical recommendations, etc.) and ensure the contribution of each Engineering team involved in the review,
- Contribute to Safety Case support files,
- Coordinate the production of System-level technical files or notes within the Engineering department,
- Review the operational and maintenance procedures defined by ESSP to check that they are consistent and take into account changes brought about by the introduction of a new version, and review the deployment plan and coordinate its review within the Engineering department.

Contribution to the routine activities of the team in collaboration with the System Supervision Engineer:

- Check System status and KPIs for which the Engineering Department is responsible,
- Prepare and run the daily OMB (Operations Management Board),
- Check weekly operations planning,
- Contribute to monthly reports.

Leading Integration, Validation and Qualification (IVQ) campaigns:

- Coordinate the IVQ campaigns carried out by ESSP following the move of an EGNOS site or any other modification impacting the industry qualification file.

Profile:

- Knowledge of SBAS systems and EGNOS in particular
- Knowledge of space and aeronautical systems operations in general
- Analytical and synthesis skills
- Good communication
- Team spirit

Job Requirements:

Engineering degree in space or equivalent.
Available for punctual travels mainly in Europe.
