
Training Engineer – F/M
ESSP, a private company with 7 major European Air Navigation Service Providers as shareholders, manages the operation and supports the adoption of the European Satellite Based Augmentation System to GPS: EGNOS.

The adoption of this service is rapidly growing given it allows correcting the GPS signal and offers enhanced features with accurate positioning and integrity within safety-of-life services context such as public transportation.

We are looking for a Training Engineer to organise, produce and deliver training to Monitoring & Control Centres operators and EGNOS equipment maintainers. If you have at least 5 years’ experience in space or aeronautical domains, then is position is for you!
Main responsibilities/activities:
Operational training activity:
- Maintenance and implementation of the management process for EGNOS operational training, for system operators and maintainers, and relevant ESSP staff;
- Creation of the training materials needed, based on documents provided by the industrial supplier, existing materials, and know-how of the company;
- Organisation and supervision of initial training, regular refresh, and specific ones for major changes
- Provision of necessary means: training plans, modules and materials, exercises, relevant platforms, simulator, etc.;
- Delivery of theoretical and practical training on sites hosting EGNOS equipment or Control Centres;
- Provision of support to other colleagues in charge of delivering these trainings on site;
- Maintenance of the database of operators/maintainers allowed to operate EGNOS system,
- The management of the supplier responsible for the provision/maintenance of the Web Based Training (WBT) tool and the Learning Management System (LMS);
- The supervision of the development and the maintenance of the training simulator.
Follow-up of the ATSEP1 certification:
For people working on the EGNOS system require ATSEP certification, requirement applicable to ESSP as an ANSP2, you will be in charge of ensuring the proper implementation of this requirement:
- Monitoring/maintaining the knowledge regarding the applicable regulations (in particular ATSEP certification for people concerned: operators, maintainers, potentially ESSP;
- Control the constraints linked to ATSEP certification are properly taken into account in the procedures,
- The organisation of ATSEP certifications, with the support of the entities concerned;
Monitoring the level of English:
As English is the working language, it is necessary to ensure that all staff involved have an adequate level of English. In this frame, you will be in charge of:
- Setting up English level assessments, adapted to the different situations;
- The implementation of corrective actions when necessary, with the support of the entities concerned;
Team support:
As a member of the operations coordination team, you will participate to: the management of project (new versions of EGNOS), writing and updating procedures, opeational qualification of control centers.
EGNOS V3: preparation of trainins for this major evolution, production of documents, training support and materials.
Project contributions and developments (out of EGNOS scope):
- Call for tenders: direct participation or support on topics requiring expertise on training activities;
- Participation in the implementation of training processes for future systems operated by the ESSP,

Profile:
The following skills will be assessed in your application:
- Communication skills, pedagogy, ease of speaking in public
- Ability to work in a team, show autonomy and initiative
- Ability to synthetize, global vision of a system and its constraints
- Knowledge of SBAS systems, and EGNOS operations in particular, would be appreciated
- Past experience with a LMS (Learning Management System) would be appreciated
- Skills in operating Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
Job Requirements:
Language: English (C1-C2) – CEFR
Engineering degree or equivalent
Available for punctual travels mainly in Europe
Subject exceptionally to constraints of minimum presence during normal vacation periods (July/August, Christmas, February, Easter)
Experience of at least 5 years in space or aeronautical domains
Experience in projects in an international context (European)
