The EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) Workshop 2025 is set to take place on October 1-2, 2025, in the vibrant city of Berlin, Germany. 

EGNOS has reached an impressive milestone with 1,000 approach procedures now utilising its Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS). This achievement highlights EGNOS's vital role in transforming aviation safety, accessibility, and sustainability across Europe.

The 15 years of EGNOS Open Service (OS) highlights Europe’s leadership in building a robust satellite navigation system that has also become a worldwide reference to other SBAS (Satellite-Based Augmentation System) systems around the world. 

The new EGNOS SoL Service for Aviation SDD introduces several updates designed to improve the precision, reliability, and safety of satellite navigation services in aviation.

The EGNOS Safety of Life Assisted Service for Maritime users (ESMAS) can be now fully exploited by users with type-approved equipment developed according to the recently published IEC-61108-7 Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) Standard for Shipborne Receivers.

The EGNOS Workshop 2024 will take place in Dublin, on March 13th and 14th.

In January 2023, the Lahti-Vesivehmaa Aerodrome (ICAO code: EFLA), located in southern Finland, two hours to the north of Helsinki, published the first LPV procedure to a Non-Instrument Runway End (NIRE) in Class G (uncontrolled) airspace in Europe; thus, becoming pioneers on the matter and paving the way for many other procedures to come.
