Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance(CNS) services, among which, the main one is, the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).

We are looking for an Application Project Engineer responsible for the life-cycle management of ESSP applications and tools. In this frame you will ensure that the business applications are consistent with the guidelines, operating methods and processes defined by the business teams.

You will contribute to Information System upgrades by ensuring that the applications are properly implemented, function properly and can be operated. You will aim at improving their performance by ensuring that the rules and procedures laid down are properly applied, particularly in the context of ISO27001 and ISO9001 certification.

For these activities, we are looking for someone with 3 to 5 years’ experience in IT, with a very good level of English (minimum B2).

Main responsibilities/activities:

Activities linked to the deployment of new versions:

- Managing the portfolio of applications within and their lifecycle,
- Management of Application TPM (Thir Party Maintenance) contracts,
- Coordination of the network of players involved in running the applications (business teams, IT teams, suppliers),
- The business interface for the applications,
- Maintaining the overall operational quality and performance of the applications,
- Monitoring bugs and changes to the applications,
- Writting functional specifications to formalise requirements and detail the desired functionalities for the applications, taking into account technical, financial, quality and regulatory obligations,
- Managing the application projects (scheduling, follow up stages of implementation, integration, acceptance, reporting, etc.),
- Managing the reference documentation for the applications,
- Supporting functional managers in using the application and identifying malfunctions;
- Technology watch around software ecosystem;

Profile:

- Strong experience in Information Systems and digital technologies (SaaS, etc.)
- Good knowledge of development methodologies and approaches (Agile/Scrum, DevOps, etc.)
- Knowledge of data exchange protocols and standards (xml, json, soap, rest, etc.), as well as common data formats
- Knowledge of programming languages and development frameworks (SQL, Java, PHP, Laravel, etc.)
- Knowledge of ticketing tools (JIRA, etc.)
- Good knowledge of project management methodologies
- Understanding of data governance, quality and security issues (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.)
- Knowledge of IS management best practice (ITIL)
- Autonomy, rigour and organisational skills
- Ability to understand the challenges and functional requirements of the various business units
- Team spirit and collaborative mindset
- Excellent adaptability and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyse and summarise
- Ability to make proposals
- Excellent writing skills

Job Requirements:

Engineering degree or equivalent
Available for occasional travel in Europe
