The European Satellite Services Provider (ESSP) and the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA) organized another edition of the the EGNOS Annual Workshop. This year's event took place in Rome on the 24th and 25th of September.

The EUTELSAT 5 West B satellite was successfully launched on a Proton M/Breeze M launch vehicle from Pad 39 at Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, at 12.17 CET on Wednesday 9 October. Hosting the GEO-3 payload of the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS), the satellite will support EGNOS V3 - the next generation of the EGNOS programme.

The EGNOS ANNUAL WORKSHOP 2019 celebrated at the ASI (Italian Space Agency) in Rome this year, gathered entrepreneurs and SMEs, along with business and public sector professionals from industry to share remarkable EGNOS implementation examples in every domain (Aviation, Rail, Maritime, Survey, Mapping, Agriculture) and how European Satellite Navigation programs are tackling the highly speed growth of the market penetration as well as the maturity and stability offered by the EGNOS services to European users.

With nearly 200 attendees coming from 38 different countries, this one of a kind event organised by GSA and ESSP proved its strong interest for EGNOS.

The added value of EGNSS (Galileo and EGNOS) for drones was the focus of a special session organised by the European GNSS Agency (GSA) at this year’s World ATM Congress in Madrid on 12 March, at which representatives from several projects spoke about how they are benefitting from the European space programme.

CGEOS Creative Geosensing is a Belgian company specialized in engineering geodesy and high precision positioning applications. CGEOS was founded by Professor Joël van Cranenbroeck in January 2014, taking advantage of his long-term (more than 30 years) experience with GNSS technology acquired at the Belgian National Geographic Institute along with other professional experiences. CGEOS addresses three major market segments at an international level: engineering geodesy consultancy services, GNSS high accuracy positioning and GNSS monitoring of human-made structures and natural elements. CGEOS delivers these services to both the public and private sectors, not only in Belgium but worldwide.

Since last December, the Helicopter RNP 0.3 routes based on EGNOS are displayed in the LPV Procedures Map with their associated waypoints and the list of operators using them.
